Makita 18v 3ah LXT combo drill, driver kit

Purchased a makita 18v 3ah lithium ion hammer drill and impact driver combo kit two years ago. I am impressed with the performance but not so much with the life of the batteries. One battery died 14 months after I bought it and the other three months ago. I have been reading allot of reviews online and there are a quite a few people who have had the same problem with this battery. All of my power tools are makita, but I must say after having this problem with this expensive combo kit, I probably won't buy another makita product after this.
