I paid for a shoe repair product and was told within days to get it. Now after fours weeks I'm attempting to get a refund it's always " no cash in till " I hope to at least get my money back. This "business" provides poor service, un clean premises, and is strongly in recommended
I inherited a vintage pair of Florsheims in good condition. They had a squeak and I decided to get them resoled while I was in town. I was would only be in Winnipeg for 3 weeks which should have been ample time as resoling a pair of standard shoes should not take longer than a week. They ended up taking more than a month during which I regularly called and visited the shop to check the status of my shoes. I eventually left and had the shoes mailed to me in the States.
I don't know who trained this cobbler but my shoes were repaired in a terribly rough fashion and the squeak which I had specifically come into the shop and asked to be repaired, was not. The soles that were placed on the shoe were of low quality and possibly reused scrap. The cobbler did not stitch the sole back on to the shoe and his handy work looks poor from afar.
I'm taking my shoes to my local cobbler in Washington, D.C. to see if he can repair this damage for me.
Had soles put on my mukluks. They told me it would take 2-3 days, and it ended up taking 3 weeks. I got so frustrated from phoning and being told "today or tomorrow, we'll phone you" and then never hearing from them (happened about 5 different times) that I finally went down to the shop after 3 weeks to see what was up. Every time I had phoned they said "this and that" had already been done and that they were just waiting to do the some of the finishing touches. When I got there, no work had been done to my boots. They did the work while I awkwardly sat in the lobby, and what I got wasn't very good work. I had also asked for my boots to be stretched and waterproofed when I brought them in, both of which were never done, though I had been told over the phone that it had. In the end I just wanted to get my boots and get out of there. They weren't apologetic in any way, rather very moody and barely spoke to me when I finally went into the shop. I don't like writing bad reviews, but I've just never encountered such poor service. Hopefully if they see this they will make some changes, or at the very least I hope my experience is unique.
