So, this last Friday night we were off to La Boheme.  Having read half a dozen reviews, I have noticed most all of them are of one extreme or the other.  Based on my experience there, I prefer to consider them a reasonably solid spot (that will do what they can to make their patrons happy), however, notwithstanding what I feel is a need to do a little work on the aesthetics of the dining area... more

... Lynda, I do not know of a spot which serves it at present. Do seem to recollect them having been served at La Boheme , Claude’s, Walden’s and places like that or as a crepe at the Creperie but that was some time... more

In Edmonton the certificates are for La Boheme . And I think they’re still offering Jubilations? Not as nice as Vancouver’s offers!

If you believe that Bordelaise sauce should be thickeded with cornstarch instead of thickened by reduction (as they do in France), and that cream sauces are not, in fact, made of cream but of milk and flour, then this is the place for you! Also expect the server to bring you the wrong meal, make up sorry excuses about the kitchen staff making the mistake but refuse to correct the mistake, or... more

We celebrated our one year wedding anniversary my wife and I. We are both from France. We really enjoyed the atmosphere. Food and service was good. Don't take the vegeterian couscous though. A bit disapointing. It is not the usual ingredients and vegetables. I guess the chef tried something different. Potatoes, sweet potatoes and rutabagas, and seminola, that's it! Sometimes it's better to... more

Located in the historic Gibbard Block of the Highlands residential district, this fine dining spot exudes European charm inside and out. In a fire-lit room under a pressed-tin ceiling, indulge in classic French dishes. Tango classes are offered Monday and Tuesday nights. The eatery is part of a Bread and Breakfast, so if you need a place to stay, inquire for details.

In the early 1900s, this attractive building functioned as a luxury apartment house. Today, it houses a fine restaurant on the ground floor and six spacious bed and breakfast suites (one to three bedrooms, with a kitchenette and elegant furnishings) upstairs. The restaurant is divided into five separate spaces, each with a French country atmosphere all its own. Food here is superb. Classic... more
