When we entered La Boheme, after waiting awkwardly at the door for five minutes with no staff in sight, we immediately felt transported - not to France, no, rather to rural Saskatchewan. The decor is a mix of a few beautiful antiques along with some dated, kitschy 1980s pieces. It resembles farm sophistication. Really needs some TLC.
I wouldn't care at all about that had the food been great....

Sunday brunch at La Boheme - we've been several times and had superb food and service. This time not so much. Service was sub par to say the least. Seemed to be only one server on, not that more were needed as the place was practically empty. Expensive. Authentic french food. Expensive...
Well the prices are steep. About $35 an entree for pretty small portion sizes. But the food is tasty and cooked right. The sauces are delicious and compliment the meats perfectly.
I came withba group of 6 of us and were seated at a nice corner in the restaurant. We shared our appies so I can tell you that the baked cheese in a pastry is the best...

If you believe that Bordelaise sauce should be thickeded with cornstarch instead of thickened by reduction (as they do in France), and that cream sauces are not, in fact, made of cream but of milk and flour, then this is the place for you! We celebrated our one year wedding anniversary my wife and I. We are both from France. We really enjoyed the atmosphere. Food and service was good. Don't take the vegeterian couscous though.
