stay away they do not stand behind service

Brought my 2002 jeep grande cherokee overland in for a blend door replacement,the service manager was aggressive right from day one they did the blend door repair and damaged both pedistal covers (did not remove them and scratched both of the panels deeply removing dash and reinstalling dash ,the burlwood steering wheel has a 3 inch gouge on the back of it now ,the gear selector knob has a big chunk out of it, from them laying the dash on top of shifter while replacing the blend door assembly (they told me they do not take the dash out of vehicle they lay it on top of my leather seats) and broken cover around the ignition.
all of these items had no marks of any kind before i took jeep in for this repair.
And to top everything off i now have a short in the steering colum making the vehicle not able to start!
after contacting the service department they said they would look at these damages and deal with it when i come for a replacment of a cam sensor since i live an hour from the dealership i asked if i could get a courtesy car, mellissa agreed and asked me to call the day before i leave home to make sure a car was avalable for me to use i agreed and did this for 3 weeks 2 times a week on days they set up for me.
On april 01 2009 i called to see if they had a courtesy car as i had the jeep booked in for cam sensor repair and to check the wiring short in the steering colum i was informed mellissa was on the phone wanting to get this dealt with i asked them to ask her if they had a car so i could get underway and get my jeep back to the condition that it was before it went in for repair a thousand dollar repair.
after being on hold for five minutes the service manager jackie came on the phone very aggressive and informed me that they are not going to be responsible for any of the damages and were not responsible for the electrical short because nothing that they had done would cause a short (they had the steering colum apart and the complete dash and center console out to do the blend door repair) ,she even told me that they did not remaove the steering colum or the dash and there is no way they marked anything .so i asked why they charged me 6.5 hour labor if they did not remove the complete dash, more aggression from jackie and she tells me if i am driving over i will be wasting my time and they are not doing anything about the damages and no courtesy car for me but, they would replace the sensor at my cost . At this time i am not willing to let them do anymore work on my jeep till we get the current damages resolved!
I insit on speaking to the owner Al Jackie told me he would be in at nine and she would have him call me as soon as he gets in. wondering if this is an april fools joke i feel violated and wait.
i call back after 10 mins and was told the owner AL would not be in for 2 days, what?
And then at 0923 jackie calls and tells me even more aggressivley that she had just talked to the owner and they had come to the conclusion that since i had broken trust between jackie and AL the owner that they wanted me to take my jeep to cranbrook dodge 120 km away from me to determine if they could have done the damages during the blend door repair and they would pay 1 hour to check the ignition short (AT THIS TIME NO ONE FROM KOOTENAY CHRYSLER HAS LOOKED AT THE DAMAGES TO MY JEEP UNLESS THEY HAD DONE SO BEFORE I PICKED MY JEEP UP AFTER HOURS DUE TO WORK)
I said to jackie how can you say i broke trust by bringing up damages that were done at her shop and why should i have to 120 km out of my way to cranbrook dodge, why not nelson chrysler both who are reputable dealers who stand behind their service. IF ANY TRUST WAS BROKEN IT WAS KOOTENAY CHRYSLER WHO BROKE IT LEADING ME ON FOR 3 WEEKS PROMISING ME A COURTESY CAR AND THEN AT THE LAST MINUTE WHEN I WAS DOING AS THEY ASKED THEY UNLOAD THIS ON ME I HAVE TO SAY I AM VERY UPSET AT THIS TIME.
I phoned Cranbrook dodge and asked the service department if this was a common practice and they informed me not at all and they had told JACKIE that they had no idea what kootenay chyrsler had done and were not intrested in solving their problem and they should deal with the customer (me) themselves.
I then contacted nelson chrysler and jackie had phoned them also trying to get them to determine if the damages were done by kootenay chrysler and check the short in the steering colum they too informed JACKIE THE SERVICE MANAGER AT KOOTENAY CHYRSLER that they were not intrested in doing repairs that they need to take care of the problem themselves!
WOW WHAT A MORNING SO FAR
So i phone jackie back and tell her i was in contact with nelson chrysler and cranbrook dodge and what they had told me. jackies starts appoligizing on how she handled me and i was lucky the owner just walked in AL the guy that was gone for 2 days just 15 mins ago?
So i talk to AL THE OWNER OF KOOTENAY CHRYSLER who also states that they had not done any damages to my jeep and that they did not remove the dash they lay it across my leather seats and steering colum lays on the dash also on my leather seats resting on the gear shifter wich he informs me they remove the shifter knob NOT TRUE AGAIN A NOT TRUE FROM KOOTENAY CHRYSLER THE OWNER AL THIS TIME
I ask al to look at the damages for himself and then tell me to my face that they are not going to cover them he agrees after hanging up on me once what a gong show all over 500 dollars in parts to fix the damages kootenay chrysler had done during this blend door repair.
the wife and i drive over the salmo creston in the snow get to kootenay chrysler when walk in i ask for al he is in his office he asked how i am i state i have had better days and i offer him a complete print out of the blend door repair he states he does not need them and as far as they are consirned he will look at the damages but they are not covering any damages but will take care of the electrical short in the steering colum I ask al if he is kidding me AL THE OWNER STATES THAT IT IS THE FIRST TIME HE HAS HEARD OF IT AND THE REPAIR WAS DONE 2 MONTHS AGO NOT TRUE AGAIN !
I told al that i had been trying to get in for 5 weeks now he did not want to hear it. we get to my jeep and i open the door to show him the damages AL does not even look in the jeep does not even bend over to make an effort and tells me even more aggressive than jackie the service manager that he will look at the electrical short but they are not going to do anything about the damages! i LAUGH and ask him why i would let his dealership work on my jeep and do more damages when they have not even attempted to acknowlege that they have done the damages we are trying to resolve I tell AL that you can not just damage someones jeep and tell them it wasnt us you are lying AL tells me i do not have to take this get off my lot or i will have the rcmp remove you
i told him to call the police i would like them to see what they had done, al states they (rcmp) do not care about little stuff like this ,again he states get off my lot only with foul language my wife asks him why he has to be that way and nothing good will come out of this. AL THE OWNER OF KOOTENAY CHRYSLER TURNS AND CHARGES AT MY WIFE i step in between and ask him why he has to be such an "a" hole he staes it was because of my attitude i was pointing at him FROM 5 feet AWAY. AL turns and sees JACKIE in the window AL THE OWNER OF KOOTENAY CHRYSLER TURNS AND RUSH UP TO ME PUTTING HIS FINGER 1 INCH FROM MY NOSE AND STARTS RANTING DO NOT PUT YOUR FINGER IN MY FACE WITH HIS FINGER INCHES FROM MY NOSE TAUNTING MY SO I WOULD GRAB IT OR PUSH HIM AWAY NO DOUBT TRYING TO SET ME UP FOR AN ASSAULT CHARGE (I DID NOT FALL TO AL S LEVEL) Al again told me to get off his "f" ing lot or he will call the police then he runs inside this is crazy my wife and i can not believe this is happening we stood there for a second then left felling raped with no satisfaction what so ever. we went to the rcmp made a report and were told it is a civil matter phoned chrysler canada and the BBB AND OLSEN ON YOUR SIDE CTV, and here we are with permanent damage to the interior of our jeep and not knowing if it will start or catch fire or leave us stranded on the summit just because we chose to go to kootenay chrysler in trail b.c.
Once we got home still not believing what had gone down today, i phoned AL the owner and asked him if he was happy with the day he states i am never happy when i have to throw someone off my lot WHAT? we left and we filed the police report!
MY CONCERN IS THAT IF JACKIE THE SERVICE MANAGER AND AL THE OWNER HAVE TREATED ME THIS WAY A KNOWLEDGABLE AUTO GUY. HOW DO THEY TREAT OTHERS SUCH AS THE MANY SENIORS IN OUR AREA.
WITH THE BIG AUTO MAKERS TAKING CASH FROM OUR TAXES FOR FINANCIAL RELIEF DURING HARD TIMES AND AL RUNS HIS BUISNESS IN THIS MANNER IT JUSTS DOES NOT SEEM RIGHT TO ME and i am not going to rest till i get satisfaction for me and everyone else kootenay chrysler has miss treated. i work to hard for my money to throw it away on poor service.
STAY AWAY FROM KOOTENAY CHRYSLER FAR FAR AWAY THERE ARE OTHER REPUTABLE DEALERS THAT WILL STAND BEHIND THIER WORK
