Gots the choice
For the wine afficianado. This place has all the usual stuff u need to pick up to stock the home shelves, but also has the stuff for extra special occasions.
OK tastings
I have done a couple of tastings here, as well as at other liquor stores in Calgary. The room they have set up here is so small and cramped, it makes it a bit uncomfortable, compared to other places.

Andrew Ferguson knows his stuff! He's the in-store specialist on scotch, bourbon and all whiskies. If you talk to him you'll get a bottle of exactly what you want, and you can come back again for more discussion or to try something new. He guides tastings as well, which are a real treat.

Kensington Wine Market Reviews
March 31, 2007I lived near the Kensington wine market for four years, and still make trips back now that I've moved out of the neighbourhood. Their staff are knowledgeable and passionate about wine, beer and fine liquors (especially scotch). They have little review cards stuck next to many of the wines with comments on flavours and suggested pairings. And they offer fantastic tasting sessions.

Unique Beer
June 30, 2006One of my favourite wine markets in Calgary, this store also has a fine selection of unique beer from Europe, as well as interesting ones from Quebec. The staff has always been helpful and not prentintious at all. They also don't try to upsell you either which is appreciated.
