Amazing value for the area

As a first time visitor, my friend, who has lived there for many years recommened the Yorkville area and specifically this hotel. It's around the corner from many more expensive 5 star hotels, but provides the same level of service and luxury. I was surprised to find an Intercontinental at this price but thought I'd give it a try. While the overall appearance of the hotel is good, the rooms definitely need an upgrade. They look generally a little worn - bathroom tiles slightly cracked, no flat-screen TV. It's just a little tired for an Intercontinental. However, it was clean enough and the location was good for me, so no complaints.... more
