Irony of ironies: a recent fire has closed the heritage Gastown location, but the phoenix rose long ago at Incendio's West side branch, doing downtown one better with a heated patio and lounge area favored by both sports fans and the pre-show crowd from next door Fifth Ave Cinemas. Pizzas are the main draw in this Tuscan-hued space, but there's a good range of decently-priced pasta dishes for... more

Attached to the arty Fifth Avenue Cinema, it’s a shoo-in for a pre-movie bite. Such pigeonholing is a shame because wood-fired pies like the kooky Ukrainian Angst ($14.99/23.99) with crushed tomato, potato, garlic, and rosemary are very good any night. Less well known but equally superb are the daily meat and fish specials (at the elusive “market price”), which are also fired. The serviceable,... more

Went here for an anniversary dinner - pretty quick, in and out, bada bing bada boom. The pizza was good - but for a place that espouses gourmet Italian I've definately had better. The service was okay, the pizza was okay, the ambiance was okay - that was my overall experience of the place - just okay. Not enough to tempt me back unfortunately. So basically, good in a pinch, but if you're looking... more

We went there on a Friday night and were seated right away. Throughout the meal the service was fast and friendly. We opted for the pre-fixe menu of a green salad and a 12 inch pizza for $18. The salad was fine, crisp lettuce and a few tomatoes in a light vinaigrette. The pizza (Montreal - pepperoni, mushrooms & green peppers) was very tasty. Thin crust, little tomato sauce and fresh toppings.... more

I go here for lunch because it's close. It's never been busy at lunchtime, which is what I like. Quiet. It has new ownership. There pastas are good, especially clam vongole. The tomato sauce is perhaps more spicy than you'd expect. Calzone was a filler! They are going to close sometime in January 2011 for two weeks to do a little reno. It should then be even better.
