Stunning downtown steakhouse featuring “tender steaks and stiff drinks”. Soaring ceilings, original artwork, spectacular lounge, and two levels of intimate dining.
Love this place. The steak was so juicy! I had the cheese bread too, but that wasnt so good. Have the steak!
"Still the grande dame of steakhouses", this "old fave" (part of a national chain) in a "central" Financial District locale caters to "hungry carnivores" with its "high-quality" cuts delivered "exactly as ordered"; "professional" servers "who know their product well" tend the "classic" "high-ceilinged" room, further making it a "special place" "to while away an evening"
My wife and I have been going here for years now and we were a little disappointed to find out that the menu has changes. The food was great, however the changed the rack of lamb and it is good but it was great before. Other then that, the service was impeccable.
I love this place. Both the food and the service were outstanding. It is not an inexpensive dinner, but it is well worth every penny you spend there.
Went here for my boyfriends birthday and the food was phenomenal. We ordered the cheese bread, Cesar salad, sautéed spinach, onion rings, bone in rib steak and a Hy's Only strip. All really good. They had just changed the menu but still accommodated us and let us order some things from the old menu. Very attentive servers. Overall good experience.
Food was bland, steak less than expected.Every time the front door opened we foze. Way overpriced for what I received. Plenty of better restuarants.Won't go back.
My guest and I recently enjoyed a lovely meal (seafood) at Hy's, but what really made the evening special was the fabulous piano player (Paul) in the bar. I will go back again just to hear the guy play.
Was visiting from out of town and went there to celebrate our anniversary. Food, service and ambiance were perfect. When making reservation had told the Maitre D' that it was our anniversary and asked for a table in a nice location. Nearly all tables appeared to be in nice locations and ours was lovely. They also offered us complimentary desserts on the house.
Classic menu featuring aged New York steaks & a lengthy wine list in a room with soaring ceilings.
Starting out in Calgary back in 1956, Hy’s Steak House has grown to blanket the major markets in Canada. Hy Aisenstat, founder of the chain, opened the doors to his Toronto restaurant in 1962. Settling itself into the atmosphere of downtown Toronto’s financial district, the medieval accents and warmth invite many Bay Street denizens. The menu features high-quality dishes such as gorgonzola... more
