The buffet is great (really!)
Have eaten there several times now. Best time to go is probably on a Friday or Saturday evening when (oddly enough) there aren't a ton of people, but they have some live music being played. And the music is not SO LOUD (like waaay too many other places), that you have to strain to hear the person next to you.... more
Nice atmosphere, great food. Good value. The service is ok, they could improve on the service with a smile. I would go for the food and the price.
The first Indian restaurant I tried in Edmonton. Not quite as good as New Asian Village, or India Grill, though definitely cheaper, still one of my faves!!
This was my first time trying Indian food, and I found everything to be delicious. Some items were very spicy, but the menu selection is huge so ask the waiter to recommend something not too spicy if you aren't used to it. Haweli Restaurant serves mouth watering Indian cuisine that satiates the stomach, but it will have you coming back time and again! The meats served here are lamb, goat and chicken. Ask local residents, and most of them will opine that Haweli is Edmonton's best Indian restaurant. If you're not familiar with the cuisine, plan to visit here for the buffet lunch, when you'll find a huge variety of traditional dishes and you can sample to your heart's content.
