The castle is, well, a castle and as such worth a visit with photo op. The grounds are especially gorgeous as this is the most temperate microclimate in Canada. This is a gorgeous setting. While we did not pay to go into the gardens, we walked around the grounds and took some great family photos.
This castle has been well preserved and was fun for the whole family as there was lots of green space the kids could run. Very scenic, right on the ocean for great views!
Was on campus at Royal Roads for 3 weeks and had a chance to take a tour of Hatley Castle. Very interesting history was shared by the tour guide. The room with the pool table was particularly neat. The tour guide had a personal ghost experience that she shared with us that really made the hair on your neck stand... more
