Great Diner

Just went for the first time for breakfast. I really liked the atmosphere and the service was excellent. My meal was a bit over-cooked, but was still really good, and there were plenty of things on the menu I'd like to try.

Noshing Hali Deli-Style

Restaurateur Victor Fineberg and his wife Sybil hit what amounted to a culinary homerun when they opened Hali Deli in the fall of 2012. An old-time soda shop serving Jewish comfort food — including breakfast selections substantial enough to tide you over until the following day — the decor and menu are about as authentic as it gets.

Careless service and thoughtless plates
June 29, 2014I gave Hali Deli a second chance after being over-charged for unsatisfying Lox and a bagel several months ago. After leaving there for the second time I am convinced that every plate is presented with a minimal portion of the main event surrounded by a bewildering prospect of undressed sliced vegetables for a price which can afford a great number... more
