This 3,902-sq.-m (42,000-sq.-ft.) public market features produce, meats, fish, wines, cheeses, arts and crafts, and lots of unique fast-food counters offering a little of everything. The market is open daily 9am to 6pm. From mid-June to October, the Granville Island Farmers' Market operates here Thursday from 10am to 7pm.

The indoor market rocks - very fresh (local) produce and gourmet food items. Reminded me of a European style market. Beautiful place to come walk around on a nice day. The water views are wonderful and you can even rent a boat by the hour. Didn't stay long because of the crowds, but definitely worth the visit if you're in the downtown Vancouver area.

We loved coming to the Public Market and did it a few times during our stay in Vancouver, scooping up and scarfing down bagels and breads, somosa and snacks, tarts and pies, salads and cheeses, berries and cherries, etc. We were quite the happy here!
