Food Poisoning at Genji
My wife and I have dined Genji several times over the last year and up until the last time the food (as well as the service and atmosphere) was very good. However, the last time we eat there my wife got food poisoning (from the sashimi - I didn't eat any fish and thus was spared a weekend of being ill) - we contacted the owner and although he seemed concerned at the time he never contacted us again as he said he would.

Pretty much anything is really good there. Sushi are the highest grade I could find in Ottawa but be prepared to pay big time for it. It's $$$

Was there late, ordered rainbow maki ($13) and miso soup($3.5) to go. Back to hotel and was disheartened to find mere 6 small bites in the box.
pros: reasonably good maki, fish was fresh.
Cons: portion way too small for the price charged.

Tofu Steak, Vegetarian Maki, Vegetable Tempura, Miso soup, Green Salad are some of vegetarian dishes you may order at Genji's. Two many good reviews I have read about Genji: - Frommer's Ottawa (the 2007 edition) recommends Genji for sushi - Ottawa Magazine gave an excellent review of Genji in the July/August edition - Ottawa Citizen's Anne Desbrisay recommended Genji for Canada Day - Ottawa University's Fulcrum newspaper gave very Genji very good rating and recommended the students to go try the food.
