Gadabout is like the old curiosity shop only better! It's filled with items from the late 1800s through the mid-1970s. Curios, nostalgia, ephemera - oodles of paper, incredible vintage posters, tons of fabulous vintage clothing and accessories for men and women. Amazing textiles. It is a well known haunt for prop and set decorators for Toronto films as well as wardrobe for the... more

This jam-packed Leslieville shop stocks outfits according to era, from Edwardian through the '70s. The quality is good, and pieces are dry-cleaned before they make it onto the racks. But everything is packed in so tight that shopping here can feel exhausting after a while. There's also menswear and a jumble of accessories and memorabilia. It's a good destination for the intrepid shopper who... more

Gadabout houses an extensive collection of vintage clothing, accessories, textiles, ephemera, nostalgia, curios and oddities. Glamour is the name of the game here. The beautiful fifties frocks (including an ivory shift covered with watercolour-like black and blue blooms, $90) are helpfully arranged by waist size and can be topped off by one of the many beautiful cashmere sweaters ($45-$95) or... more

This place is full of knick-knacks in literally every nook and cranny.
There are large drawers each labelled with various items like handkerchiefs, gloves, postcards, cards, buttons, etc.
The walls are filled with things from various eras.
I bought a beautiful owl decanter for only 19.99 and had a nice time reminiscing through items I remember seeing in my grandpa's old house.

GADABOUT is a freaking amazing place! There are two floors of men's and women's vintage clothing, books, bottles and curiosities. I could spend days in here and not see everything... What I did see includes a huge map of Toronto from 1929 for sale here for $800, and lots of old tins, old metal signs and saloon advertising, tobbaciana, brewerania, military pieces and old paper including... more

Well organized, poorly displayed, overpriced.

(It's not only the owner who is very helpful, even the regular employee knows where EVERYTHING is. Amazing, really.)

The clothing and accessories at this museum-like shop can date back to the late 1800s. Find lace blouses, sequined cashmere sweaters and 1950s prom dresses, plus accessories, footwear and household textiles. The "manly man" corner has vintage ephemera such as playing cards, pen knives, watches and lighters. Open daily.
