With so many different deserts and dishes, it's hard to make a solid opinion from only one visit. You need to go multiple times and get every item, because they are all great.
This is a cozy, fun and hip little cafeteria style eatery. The croud is the usual Annex student croud and they have found the next best thing to Moma's home cooking. There are many tasty choices but the mashed potatoes are by far my favorite thing on the menu...Light, fluffy and accompanied by the best mushroom gravy ever! The also have a great patio for people watch and sangria sipping as well as a full bakery with amamzing cakes, cookies and tarts. The strawberry shortcake is to die for!
Future Bistro has good food at fair prices. It is not fine dining, but then I am not a fine diner. It is not far from the University and has a large student clientele. In summer, you can sit outside and take in the pleasant Bloor Street crowds. The coffee is also very good. The staff are pleasant.
