Not your stuffy Italian
This place is for fun and good times. It's not the old school Italian which does have its place too. But, this place is a happening 17th ave spot that just happens to be serving good Italian fare. Not the 5 course Italian meals, but the quick 'n tasty good eatin stuff.
Trendy Italian on 17th with friendly decor
Right on 17th ave this place has a lot of hustle and bustle. It's kinda fun place to be at. Food is typical Italian, but that's not a bad thing if you're out for Italian! Prices are reasonable for food and drink, and it's big enough that you should be able to get in with a reservation no problem. Not much Italian competition of this calibre on 17th.

I don't know that there's anything special about this restaurant, to be honest. They serve typical Italian fare, the service is alright and they're accommodating, but I wouldn't rave about anything. Make sure you're not seated at the back by the restroom stairs, somehow it smells back there even though the restrooms are downstairs. Yuck!

November 18, 2008I have been to Fiore twice now. Once on a Saturday night with a girlfriend. The service was ok, but slow and the food was nothing memorable. The second time was last Saturday for a friends birthday. I probably wouldn’t have come back but for the fact she wanted to try it, so I gave it a second chance. I've love this place for years and have noticed the service was going down hill. The last time was the last time i will ever go back. There were little fruit fly's in every thing more so in the vinigar then the other stuff. So we pointed it out to our waiter and he just said ok and didnt even remove the vinagar from the table. he brought out our food but by that time we were so grosed out we... more

Fiore Cantina Italiana Reviews
June 30, 2007I've been to Fiore's many times. It's one of the few restaurants left in Calgary that actually seems to have enough staff. I've never waited particularly long and the prices are very reasonable. The service staff always seem to work as a team, so you'll often find the person who gave you your complimentary bread is not the same person who brings your meal. However they organize it, it's working.
