For a small city, the Esplanade really rocks. Time and time again they have had some very high quality shows, including some Broadway shows at this venue. The only thing that brings it down is the cafe. They are soooooo slow at serving drinks in between shows that I would not recommend people depend on them for the mid-show refreshments.... more
If you told me 25 years ago, that I would see Peter Frampton in Medicine Hat, Alberta, I would have laughed. I would have fallen over if you told me it would be in a venue seating 700. But he did perform at the Esplanade, a performing arts center, museum, and art gallery that definitely punches above it's weight class.... more
Have seen manyfantastic shows, in a fantastic environment, there are no bad seats. I like that you can reserve tickets online and pick them up the night of the show at will call. Always a great experience all around

The Esplanade was built in 2005 as one of Alberta's Centennial Legacy Projects. The Esplanade combines the Medicine Hat Museum, Art Gallery and Archives and a Performing Arts Theatre all under one roof.
