Complete and utter lack of communication
Interesting to read reviews by tenants of this company. As an owner, I am also :dissatisfied and have similar complaints:
Unauthorized repairs and maintenance to the tune of $3000 (which were not really needed). It took multiple emails to the 'manager' before I was given a copy of the work order.
Banking errors that cost me hundreds of dollars.
Late (or no) payment as scheduled. No monthly statement.
No explanation (or reimbursement) for their mistakes and poor performance except to say, "Oops. Sorry. Not my fault. I'll forward your request to ...".
A lot of things could be forgiven BUT there is a total lack of communication from them!!! Emails and phone messages routinely go unanswered and it can take up to a month to get someone ANYONE to respond!!!
And yes, more often than not, the receptionist is rude and not helpful.
Simply unacceptable.
(I give them 1 star only because this website won't post my review without giving a rating).
Unprofessional and poor service
They never respond to e-mails and phone calls requesting maintenance. The staff is very rude, unprofessional and totally not what you expect from a licensed property management company. They have no respect for the laws prescribed by RTA Alberta. I will never rent their property again.
Terrible organisation
Do not use this organization to manage your property.
I have encountered constant issues with them.
They downright lie so that you will sign up with them. They are very quick to deposit your security cheque but never respond to emails or phone calls.
They breach the contract and have incredibly high cancellation fees which are completely unfair.

June 17, 2010Most managers are weak, and if you do get a good one, they leave and it takes months to get someone else in their place. We have worked with them for 6 years with abysmal service, so we will be looking to replace them - switching is a pain, so don't let your condo board make this mistake in the first place!!

February 22, 2010Equity Capital Management and Realty is a terrible management company, they are unresponsive, do not return phone calls, and their top priority is making money for property owners - anything about the building seems to comes second.
