Quaint
Very very good food! Need some new chairs......not quite up to snuff! Staff is friendly and nice selection of food;.
Simply Tea riffic!
A little hard to find, but once you do you will have an excellent experience! The Empress offers a wide selection of first-class teas, great food, and very friendly service.
Must Go More Often
I have only been in this obscurely located tea room twice and been delighted both times not only by what I ate and drank on site but with the vast range of traditional and not-so-traditional teas that they sell for home use. I just find it hard to remember they're here, squirreled into the back of a mini-mall on South Nicholson. My new year's resolutions include coming here more often. It's a fine alternative to the commotion of meeting someone at Starbuck's or the mediocrity of doing so at Timmie's.

We went here on July 18th, 2013. Based on the information sheet behind the front door window it appeared to be closed (however, it was not clear whether it was only for a short time or permanently). Bummer, after reading the excellent reviews on TripAdvisor.
Since we could not judge staff, food, atmosphere etcetera, we rated every aspect 3/5.

A hidden gem

Superb personalities, unbelievably friendly and accommodating customer service with the best sense of humour....and great quality, fabulous food.
I am ashamed to admit that after my years in Vancouver and the Kootenays, I am a just a big food snob. I am also an self professed introvert.
I crave the Empress Tea House food daily and always look forward to...
