We contracted Elite to install railings on our deck, as well as a few screens of privacy glass. We began at the start of July. They did not complete the job until the 20th of November. That's 4 and a half months!! They actually only performed 10 hours of work.
During the 4 and a half months, I would call Les on his cell and he would not answer. I would call his office and leave messages. He would respond a week later - always saying the job would be done that week. Three weeks would go by, and he would show up and perform some trivial task for a half an a hour and then disappear again.
He completed the job on a Friday. The next Monday he was calling to pick up a cheque. He called twice a day. He waited until Wednesday before coming, hand out and ready to be paid.
If only he had put one percent of the effort he expanded in getting paid into getting the job done . . .
Most of the work, when it finally got done, was decent. Except for his attempt at creating a gate. Our deck is made entirely of cedar - he chose nice pine two by fours - lovely green stamps and all. Then he chose hinges that require a large surface for 3 screws - which the gate does not have, so he put triangles of plywood in the corners. Can you say buffugly?!? The thickness of the plywood throw off the alignment of the gate so it's on a wonky angle to the posts. And already it does not open or close smoothly. It’s so terrible my husband is making a new one (hell, I could make a better one).
He was supposed to modify our existing cedar gate - instead he charged us $75 bucks for this monstrosity!! GUTTSY, GUTTSY, GUTTSY!
I would not recommend this company to anyone.
