Built in 1834, the oldest surviving home in London contains heirlooms and furnishings that belonged to the original owners, Captain John and Amelia Harris.
Year round the staff at Eldon House are open with special events. I have been to almost all and loved everything that the day offered. My friend and I went and had a lovely experience exploring this grand old home. I would go again. Next time in the summer.
We are big fans of where it all began so if you feel the same, don't miss this museum. The staff is dressed in period costume and the furnishings are original or original to the period. Watch for the tile work around the fireplaces. Not like a castle, but lots to see, so plan at least a couple of hours.... more
This house museum conserves and displays the artifacts, objects, heirlooms of the Harris family. The home dates way back to the 1830s and is still well-preserved and maintained. For details, check website.
