We've been lucky enough to have dinner at Dr G's a few times and it consistently impresses with the good food, outstanding service and cozy atmosphere.
Highly recommend for locals or for tourists looking for a neighbourhood feel rather than the franchise, one-size-fits-all feel at other restaurants. It may not be worth the trip if you're staying downtown but we would have no problem recommending it to those staying on the west side. The staff are excellent with families with small children.
It's likely the best restaurant in Bloor West Village when considering value for money.

This was one of my favourite restaurants in the Bloor West Village. Fantastic food; good service; corkage fee Mon - Wed. HOWEVER, Dr. G IS NO MORE. Sadly the notice on the windows shows they have ceased operation. Like a phoenix bird, a restaurant called the Sparrow is to open in its place. We look forward to their opening.

I've eaten here quite a bit over the last few years and always find the food very tasty and nicely prepared. The portions are also generous which may account for the name!
