Love this place. Authentic soups, noodles, dumplings, stews and other dishes in Shanghai style. Chef can be seen preparing the noodles and wrappers. Definately try the soup-filled dumplings, they come piping hot from the steamer. It's high on the carb and fat index but so worth the calories if dumplings, noodles & soup are your weakness.
Tip: poke a hole in the dumpling first or you may get burned
Best place for shanghai dim sum! Love their xiao long bao! Their mini one's doesn't taste as good! The ice tea is soooo good! Also you should try the braised pork and the porc chop with rice! Great place, fast service! It's a must everytime we visit Toronto!
I was going to give 3.5 stars out of 5 for this restaurant. In general, I like the dining environment and it is pretty neat. You also get to use their wifi. We ordered steamed buns with crab eggs and pork and chili sauce wanton. I am surprised that the taste is pretty comparable to the one I had in Shanghai. But the Mei Cai Kou Rou (braised pork with preserved vegetable in soy sauce) isn't that... more
No the soup dumplings are not as good as those I've had in Shaghai but it costs a lot less than getting on a plane to Asia or even Seattle/LA. The place is really clean and tasteful. All dishes I had are at least on par or better than most other Chinese restaurants in Toronto ... but I'm Korean and don't go to one every day so maybe there are many others that are better.
