Poor Food and Service

I visited Dinakis Greek Restaurant on a Friday evening as my party and I were planning on trying something new. Dinakis is a relatively new restaurant in the trendy Oxford Connector area of Port Coquitlam. Upon entering I noticed the upscale decor of the restaurant. You can definitely tell the owner had spend a lot of time and money on the design and layout. The overall feel is that of something you would normally see in Yaletown or Gastown in Vancouver. This was a very nice treat as the seating was comfortable and the layout was roomy. Everything looked great and organized, as it should. Many other restaurants can definitely learn a lot from this as this spoke of experience. Unfortunately that is the only positive note regarding this restaurant. The service was slow and the food was below average. Our server was friendly but far from attentive, despite having enough servers to tend to everyone in the restaurant. The food didn't arrive on time and it was grossly inaccurate in regards to what it should be. Overall the flavours, if any were not on the spot and textures were a disappointment. The rack of lamb was average, the calamari was crisp but tasteless and the jumbalaya was horrid. Overall the experience wasn't the worst I had but definitely one of disappointment. If the owners had spent less money and effort on the look and feel of the restaurant and more on the training of the staff then this establishment would definitel far much better.
