WELCOME to Diane’s Creative Elements, Your Local Yarn Store – Our passion is knitting and we’re easy to find... we’re located in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, on the TransCanada Highway (Hwy 17 West), right across from McDonald’s Restaurant.

We (Diane and Barb, daughter-in-law/mother-in-law team) opened our doors in September 2009. Barb and I, both avid knitters, were frustrated in our attempts to find yarn and sewing notions (zippers, buttons, thread). We soon discovered a need for these items in our community. Barb kept saying: “if I ever win the big one, I’m opening a yarn store”.... hhhmmmmm – food for thought - Right!

I always had an interest in owning my own business, but my interest was more in the food industry, not yarn! After some discussion with her and my husband, along with the encouragement from the ladies in our local knitting group, a local yarn store was born!

The best part of this business is meeting our customers – it’s always a pleasure to see our regular customers. It’s very exciting as well to meet customers from all over the world....yes indeed – we’ve met incredible people from Finland, Czech Republic, Scotland, England, USA, Vancouver, Alberta, Quebec, Montreal, and from all over Ontario - We just love it!

In an ever changing economy, we make every effort to provide our customers with products that will fit into everyone’s budget.

To spark your creativity, we have a wide variety of yarns, needles and patterns from various companies such as Bernat, Patons, Lily, Phentex, Briggs & Little, King Cole, Cascade, Berroco, Malabrigo, Westminster Fibers (aka Kertzer), Sirdar, Nova, Hayfield, and Regia – Our knitted garments have also inspired many.

We encourage new and experienced knitters and crocheters out there to come in and browse. We are always here to help and answer your questions if you need it – we might not always have the answer but we will make every possible attempt to find out - you can always sign up for knitting classes as well.

We’ve tripled our inventory since we opened our doors and bring in new items on a regular basis. Over the past 2 years, we have expanded our inventory to include paints, brushes, canvas, beads, sewing notions (zippers, buttons, thread), other needlecrafts (cross stitch, DMC embroidery thread, etc), quilting accessories and fabric.

“Like” us on our Business Facebook page and keep up to date on what’s new! We’re still working on our website....never realized it would be this much work and so time consuming, but it’s getting closer and closer to being reality!

Our goal is to make you feel welcome and at home and to provide you with good old fashioned customer service. You’ll always receive a personal welcome and a smile as you enter our store – we are friendly and always ready to assist you.
