My aunt moved into Delmanor Glen Abbey in August after suffering a debilitating stroke, and subsequent vascular dementia. She was moved to a different room without any notice to either my aunt or her family, fairly shortly after moving in. This move was quite difficult for my aunt, and caused her much stress and immediate deconditioning. The facility was informed that under no circumstances was my aunt to be moved again, as it would have too great a detrimental effect on both her physical and mental health. Yesterday, my aunt was informed she would again be moved, making this the third room she would occupy in less than 2 months, as they had rented out the room to someone else who would be willing to pay more rent than my aunt was currently paying (the agreed upon amount). She refused. Today she was served with an eviction notice demanding she and all of her possessions be out of the room by no later than 5pm two business days later. This facility is kicking out a senior with dementia, and providing them only 2 business days to find alternate arrangements. Shameful. If you care for your loved ones at all, DO NOT allow them to move into this residence.
