Cyclemania is a long, bike-filled space on Bloor West's busy bike shop stretch. It isn't for dilettantes - the owner would like you to know what your bike is worth, and what part you need, in the interest of making city biking more pleasant all around. The ceiling is drippingwith wheels, and the walls covered with reconditioned used bikes priced, it's to be assumed, at what they're worth.
Yes, the place was crammed. Yes, there were drunk people in the back. But as someone who got a completely busted rear tire + inner tube and was desperate to get home to care for a sick husband, I have to say I'm forever grateful to the guy who got it fixed and ready to go in 10 minutes. I already have a usual bike repair shop I go to, but I think I found my emergency pit stop here.

Came here once to fix a flat and he charged me $20 even though the website says $15. When I came to pick up the bike he went into a tirade about how terrible the news is and Communism, which was amusing at first but dragged on and became annoying since I just wanted to pick up my bike, he was clearly drunk and I saw empty beer cans lying about.
I've visited Cyclemania 3 times in total for service. The first time was great - fixed a hole in my flat tire for $15. The second time I went in for a tune up. They charged me $70 + hst and did a s@!%!y job - which led to my visit the 3rd time - to get them to fix what they forgot to and redo the tune up.
