I called Custom Cooling Solutions to repair my furnace over the Christmas holidays. They were great about getting out there the same day which was much appreciated. However, they had to come back 6 times to try and fix it. They claimed that there was multiple issues that they didn't discover until fixing each previous issue. They charged me each time for labour, a "call out charge" and parts. Even though they knew I was disputing the charges they charged my Visa for over $1500! I started calling the office to discuss the charges with the owner, Heath, on January 8th. I was told I'd be called back. I called 5 times and each time I was promised a call but never received one and was not given a cell number even though I asked. I was totally stonewalled. On January 20th I finally got in touch with the owner by fluke and when I told him who I was he immediately started yelling at me on the phone before I could even talk him about my concerns. He would not let me get a word in so I just waited until he had exhausted himself of his tantrum like my toddler does. When he was done I calmly asked if he really felt it was fair to charge me over $1500 and he yelled ABSOLUTELY! I said that he is really not giving me any options here. I need to get this settled so I guess I'll have to take it to small claims court. I'll be telling my friends about this bad experience. He started to yell something else and then cut himself off and hung up on me.
In December of 2011 my original heating system in Walnut Grove died. It was the dead of winter and a week before Christmas. Other companies wanted a fortune for a standard heating system with not very much efficiency.
Heath (the owner of CCS) came out first to confirm that the old system was beyond repair. Then I worked with Dan to find a solution that worked for me. Heath reviewed the plan and showed Dan and I a way to save some money with an air exchange unit, instead of a furnace + heat pump.
A 3 man crew came in. They shoveled snow. One guy worked the electrical, another the gas and another was a general labour guy. In 2 days I had a new heat pump, air exchange unit, tankless hot water system and electric air cleaner. Before the system was turned over to me, a supervisor came out and inspected the entire systems for install perfection.
CCS arranged for an inspector so that I could get government grants and within a short few weeks I had government grant money in hand. Since the install I have had CCS in my home to service all the equipment and clean the air duct system with their massive vacuum truck.
I hear that Maytag cheaped out on some clients with warranty work, so perhaps that explains the complaints here. I will forever praise CCS for their professionalism and ongoing savings of money from the systems and breaks on their maintenance programs.
This guy is a total rip off. I want to warn anyone who decides to go with this company to read all the reviews on here and on www.yelp.ca
Rip off, rip off, rip off!
Spent over 10 thousand on a heat pump, Electric air filter and air handler. That was over a year ago and I am very happy with product. The install and serice was great as well. I paid good money for it but it was worth it!
