In a world where neighborhood bookstores are too often on life support, this gem, 20-plus years and kicking, stands out for its fine selection of cookbooks, food memoirs, and the best in food writing. If you're lucky enough to be in town for one of their many book launches, book the date -- top chefs are often featured. (Julia Child, for one, was here.)
