demolition vs renovation

Shopping for a contractor? Looking for a reputable, honest crew to undertake your renovation? ARE YOU LOOKING FOR SATISFACTION?

Please let me enlighten you as to what you can expect from MEWS CONSTRUCTION (Courtice, Ontario)

1/ VERY poor workmanship due to the lack of knowledge, common sense and care.
2/ Your initial quote will be inflated by 45% after the job is well underway and expect a song and dance/sob story and his hand out.
3/ Flagrant disreguard for whatever aggreement you THOUGHT you had. In other words, the bill of goods he sells you isn't worth the paper it has been written on. You can also expect a long, drawn out time line on your renovation....multiply whatever he tells you he can get the job done in (days) by 10.

Here are a few examples of this particular contractors ineptness:

1/ My 6 month old $10,000.00 paved driveway was ruined.
2/ 4 year old $700.00 window was ruined.
3/ 4 6ft cedars dead due to cement overspray
4/ Smashed into my $14,000.00 cedar deck causing a splintered joist and 8 broken spindles.
5/ My yard is extensively damaged due to ground debris left behind.
6/ Cement splatter all over the side of my brick house - cement splatter all over newly installed $1,600.00 door - cement surrounding the drain they installed rendering it small and un-cleanable
7/ Replaced the bricks he shattered with homemade bricks....if you can believe that!
8/ Hand mixed cement (approx 4 yards) became unstable after the 'WALL FORMS' were removed.

In a nutshell, please use due dilligence when hiring a contractor.
