Founded in 1959, Collège St-Jean-Vianney is a private learning institute that welcomes boys and girls at secondary levels 1 to 5. Our high school nestles in the heart of the Parc de Pointe-aux-Prairies, on the eastern tip of the Island of Montreal, along the shores of the Rivière-des-Prairies, a few minutes from the Pont Le gardeur.
We mobilize all our resources so that students may obtain their high school diploma in a climate of complete harmony by fostering the overall development of each student. Equality, integrity and tolerance are among the core values of our private school.
• Pedagogy

Our high school offers personalized coaching for each young person who undertakes his or her secondary training. In fact, we believe that each person has a role to play in society. We want all students to be the best at what they have chosen to be, and we make every effort to help them reach their goal.

Several support measures are also offered to students who are struggling. Whether it is through remedial classes, special courses or coaching, St-Jean-Vianney is committed to helping students progress along their learning path.

Students follow language courses (English and Spanish) and may choose among an array of arts courses, including music, plastic arts and theatre.

• Technology
At Collège St-Jean-Vianney, several technological tools are provided for students and teachers. Three computer laboratories, one of which is solely dedicated to Mac computers are available for use. Computers are also available in the library and the plastic arts studio. Our school is also equipped with a wireless network, and all classes are equipped with projectors and interactive learning material.
Beginning in 2012, all secondary 1 level students will be provided with an iPad, a versatile tool to use in all classes. This technology will gradually be offered to students of all levels.
In order to provide the best communication possible with students and parents, our school ensures continued presence on various social media (Facebook). Parents, students and teachers also have access to a portal where they may view notices, special events and schedules.
• Student Well-being
We know that for students, socio-cultural, sports, community and pastoral activities stimulate and inspire unsuspected talents and aptitudes.

• Sports
In recent years, our school has acquired several high-performance infrastructures. Our campus now includes a synthetic fibre soccer stadium, volleyball courts, a training gymnasium, a dance studio, a football field, two outdoor soccer fields, a palestra, several gymnasiums and an arena. Thanks to all this equipment, students may choose among a wide array of sports activities.
Because the overall health of our students is very important to us, we have put in place a program of daily activities, in which each students chooses a physical activity to practise one hour per day, three times a week, as well as a cultural, artistic, sports or community activity lasting one hour per day, twice a week.

• Arts and Culture
We believe that each student is special. The Collège St-Jean-Vianney personnel creates winning conditions so that all may discover their passions, strengths and talents.

The PEP personal enrichment program encourages all students to explore their passions and interests. With each activity chosen, students will find new challenges to meet. And, in accepting these challenges, they will surpass themselves, learn more about the chosen subject and hone their talents. The objective of this program is to promote overall student development.
The Collège is equipped with an auditorium, an improvisation studio, a music studio, a plastic arts studio, a pottery studio and a dance studio. Various cultural and arts activities are offered, such as pottery, painting, scrapbooking, dance, theatre, improvisation, music etc.
• High-Speed Program
Our learning institute provides students with personalized coaching adapted to their level, and teachers develop tools that are specific to each group. Students wishing to follow a high-speed path that includes more demanding requirements may join the High-Speed group. Ours students evolve throughout the year in the same homeroom; this structure simplifies their daily routine and reinforces their feeling of belonging. In addition, courses are held in the same classroom, which offers a higher level of stability throughout the learning process.

• Environment
The Collège St-Jean-Vianney nestles in the heart of the Parc de Pointe-aux-Prairies, along the Rivière-des-Prairies. Students work in a peaceful, natural environment. Several walking paths border the land adjacent to the school. Biology and science courses become an extraordinary experience, as they can easily be conducted in the vast natural park. For physical education courses, students can also run along the paths that run around the school.

Our high school provides students with many services, such as orientation, health (infirmary), pastoral, library, transportation, students’ aid and food services.
Private bus routes are in place in several sectors of Lanaudière, while special bus services provided by the Société de transport de Montréal are available for Montreal students.
