Stay away

If I can give word of warning, do not rent from this company - If at the very least - the Stratford apartments. Through my lease here - I've had to put in Numerous work orders to get a simple buzzer set up (work orders, plus phone calls, plus e-mails...), Screens for my windows (Even more work orders, phone calls, e-mails... even in person work orders given to a CLV employee!), Blinds for my windows, Leaking taps fixed (Which added over 20 bucks a month on my hydro bill because it was filling the tub with hot water within a few hours), new Keys to get in as ours were not working properly any more.

The only thing that was fixed right away was a dead fridge, which apparently was our fault. (Yes - they blamed us for our fridge breaking down...)

At one point, I called again because I wasn't able to get into the building and had enough, the landlord was telling me on the phone "Well... You're not getting your key tonight, I'll drop it off in the morning" (He's been telling me this for over a week now) and persisted to explain to me that he's over worked because there's too much to do through the 3 apt buildings. (Unprofessional)

I think the biggest problem I've had, was being out of a shower for a couple of weeks. yes... WEEKS - and no compensation... no "You're shower is out of service because your pipes are leaking and your ceiling is caving in on you... soo, how about you use this apartment for a shower temporarily...." Or no compensation for having to take showers at our parent's place once a week...

I've tried to talk to the management, and all I ever get is "I'll look into this, i'll get back to you" and then I never get anything back.

I've asked to cut my lease short (because we signed a 17 month lease), I figured with the situations explained above - we would have been able to leave a month or 2 early... but again "I'm on vacation, I'll get back to you" - and never do.

Finally, the roads are not iced properly, and there's been an issue with lighting in the parking lot (one of the lights turns on, 1 minute later, turns off, then turns back on) -- causing me not to be able to see the ice and slip on it... Fun times...

I've never been anything but polite to these guys, and this is the thanks I get.
Not to mention, their mission statement (straight from their website www.clvgroup.com):

My final, and most favorite point, when I went to pick up the keys the day we were moving in - they didn't even know we were moving in.... For some reason they had us written down for moving in on the 15th of the month, none of our e-mails stated the 15th... :S -
