My friend an I are regulars at Classic. We have never been disappointed with the service or the food, and the prices are more than reasonable.
My group of six is a frequent visitor at Classic Cafe East for Sunday morning breakfast. We have visited many places around town, but we always seem to gravitate back to this restaurant. Its many windows make for a bright and comfortable atmosphere, ample parking is right outside and the food is generous and great tasting. The place is nothing fancy, but the staff and furnishings make you feel at home. You should try it.
The staff are very professional and friendly even though I was a bit cantankerous. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the food was exceptional.
I guess classic means plain. hash browns were frozen from a bag. tooo much margerine on my toast.
This come-as-you-are eatery is appropriately named: It's a classic St. John's spot, and everyone in town seems to drop by at some point. This bistro is popular with everyone from fishermen to artists. Locals flock here for stick-to-your-ribs fare, including hearty breakfasts served throughout the day. Try sirloin with eggs, home fries, toast and baked beans. They specialize in traditional Newfoundland favorites like baked cod tongues, rabbit stew and pea soup. Casual dress.
