Second-class treatment, long wait, average food.
October 11, 2009Slow and abrupt service. Not crowded at all during our Monday supper hour visit, but obviously understaffed and did not treat patrons equally. June 25, 2007It depends on whats your type of chinese restaurant flavour. Those that come here come for the dimsum or the evening snackdinner. The evening snack menu after 8pm delivers more punch for the same amount of cash youll be dishing out for a normal dinner. Reason being is that each plate is half the size and half the price. I came from HK and have lived in Ottawa for more than 20 years. During that time, I tried each and every Chinese restaurant in town and I have to say the only one that I keep going back to is Chu Shing. Although the service and ambiance mediocre, the food is excellent and it is so inexpensive. Take the basic rice for example. The dim sum was awesome! The place has a genuine chinese atmosphere. The waitresses speak pretty lousy english, so it's hard to know what all the dishes are - however I suggest you take at 1 of everything :D
