When this restaurant first opened a few years ago – I heard many rumblings about how great the food was. There were many forums discussing this new entry into the Edmonton steakhouse market, and had some great reviews.

I should have patented the stone, wood and leather look as it seems every restaurant/lounge seems to be rocking this decor.Visited this place for lunch while visiting the in-laws. For a steak joint, this place was hopping at lunch. Then again, it is Alberta and I imagine people have red meat shredded on their toast at breakfast. I agree with previous reviewers who said that Chop needs a better location. This restaurant is simply too posh to be located where it now. It belongs downtown, where one would expect to find all upscale restaurants. Any who, on to the review... I am not an avid stake eater but when I was invited to come dine at Chop, I couldn't resist the urge to check this place out since I have heard so many... more

I definitely enjoyed my experience at Chop.But I have to say, it needs a better location. It's right next to a Denny's and a Sandman hotel. Chop is an upscale modern restaurant and it just doesn't fit in where it is.Chop is definitely a modern place with a luxurious contemporary decor. I is a really nice place.
