This 18-story hotel was built in 1975 as a high-rise apartment building, so the hotel's rooms and one-bedroom suites are unusually spacious; many suites have kitchenettes, and all have balconies. Prices are higher for the 5th through 15th floors, where the views are better; if you can, get one of the corner 09 rooms with windows on two sides. I would pick this place over the Empress hands down. I toured the Empress and one of the staff mentioned that some of the rooms did not have functioning a/c at the empress. My family and I stayed here for a weekend and were impressed with the high level of service and care. We booked 2 rooms one for my parents and one for my sister and I to celebrate their anniversary. My husband and I stayed here for two nights last week and received all around wonderful service!!
