En plein coeur du Vieux-Montréal, ce musée offre des expositions temporaires vraiment intéressantes comme celle qui arrive prochainement: "AUTOUR DU FOYER... Traditions du temps des Fêtes".
Was a little skeptical about paying $10 for a museum I hadn't heard of. Was glad I paid it. Quick and entertaining coverage of the history of Montreal generally, not just history of that house. Be sure to use the video kiosks where "ghosts" of the house tell you the pertinent history from their time period.
History of Montreal, small enough – easy to walk through this residence (built in 1705) in an hour or so and pick up some interesting tidbits. Including information about Ben Franklin’s diplomatic visit circa 1775. Former governor’s residence, and at times, military headquarters. Believe they offer guided tours through the museum, so check on timings in advance.
Once the residence of Governor Claude de Ramezay, Château Ramezay Museum chronicles the rich history of Montreal. It houses an impressive collection of antiques, photographs, paintings and costumes. Check the website or call ahead for more details.
