I did the cardinal sin of trying out a new restaurant and not trying the food that the restaurant is named for. I did not really try to much of the Malaysian food and stuck more with the Indonesian food.The shrimp rolls which were small and ok. I really hated the ketchupy hot sauce that came with them. June 28, 2011The food is very delicious and flavorful. I had the shrimp tamarind. It had lemon grass and a variety of different spices which i really enjoyed. I suggest having a bowl of rice on the side to whatever dish you are having. The place itself is very cosy and the service is great. I recommend this restaurant to people who love spicy (as in flavorful) food.

Malaysian cuisine is derived mostly from Chinese and East Indian traditions, although it has influences of other Asian cultures as well. Chahaya Malaysia is a great place to give it a try.
