If you've never been to Vancouver, this is a good place to orient yourself and see some of what makes B.C.'s largest city so special. Very pretty , and a LOT to do around this area. I would more than happy to take an Alaskan cruise out of Vancouver because of Canada Place.
This is a great port to sail into and out of. There is easy access to public transit to the airport, and the location is near many great hotels and restaurants. It is a safe and clean port that we enjoy visiting.
I have been to Canada Place a few times, most recently for the Wine Festival, but I can't really tell you much about that since I was too busy tasting wines and getting my drink on. I have also been for the Taboo, Naughty But Nice Show, which has been fun in recent years when you don't get bombarded by drunk college guys looking for girls gone wild. This busy port of Vancouver welcomes more than 2800 ships from more than 60 countries each year. Its impressive landmark structure, Canada Place, houses the Vancouver Trade and Convention Center, the Vancouver Board of Trade, IMAX theater, restaurants, shops and the world-class Pan Pacific Hotel.
On many postcards of the city, you will find images of this "five-sailed" complex adorning the harbour shoreline. This should be high on the list of things to see for first timers to the city. Canada Place, a mixed-use commercial facility, is home to the Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Centre, The Pan Pacific Hotel, The Vancouver Port Authority Corporate Offices, Cruise Ship Terminal (Operated by the Vancouver Port Authority), The CN IMAX Theatre, World Trade Centre Office Complex and Citipark parking facility.
