awesome live music and party atmosphere
The Cameron House is a really cozy bar with a little something for everyone. The back room often has great music and hosts many htings for artists. I was last there in March and I had a blast! I saw this amazng band called The Tristones and I was very impressed. They played on the front bar stage, instead of in the back. The sound was great and the band members are all very talented! The drummer was pretty cute too! :) Overall, a nice, classic Queen street hang!
Music and art collide at this "historically significant" Queen West hotbed for the roots and "punk rock" scenes, where patrons "from all walks of life" pass the hat for nightly bands in two performance spaces; in particular, the front's "grand room" (with "lofty ceilings") attracts "writers, musos and a younger generation of hipsters who sit hunched over whisky, wine" and affordable local brews.
Since 1981, this local favorite has drawn a crowd (before then it was a divey hotel). There's a rococo bar at the front, and local bands try out in the back room. If the owners are to be believed, Prince has stopped by to jam here.

There's a sign on the wall that says "this is paradise" and that's exactly where we are. The Cameron House is my favourite place in Toronto to see good music with good people. beer is fairly priced. There's a sense of family at the Cam that you don't find elsewhere. Lots of regulars and characters that you'll come to know and love. The front room is always where it's at. pass the bucket and... more
Love this place! I was stuck in Toronto for a couple of days due to Pearson closures and read about this place on yelp. Great dive bar, and awesome live music. The night I was there an alt-country duo (love locks) were playing, great!!
Good beer too!
This is a totally unique spot, like nothing we have back in vancouver and wish we did!
I came here with some friends last weekend and we had a blast. I am definitely adding this to my list of favourites on Queen West.
First off, the only way to describe the decor in the front is: Acid + A Midsummer Night's dream. There is an awesome fresco on the ceiling with vines reaching up to it. But there are also robots, skeletons and assorted yard sale items stuck to the walls.

If you like to sip on a drink or two as you tap your feet to good music, this is where you should be. The Cameron House is a unique bar with a line-up of really cool gigs, local bands and DJ nights to rock your world. Front and Back room artistes strive to keep you entertained through the night as you let your hair down. An artsy place, with murals adorning the interiors, this place is the... more
Located just west of Spadina on Queen Street West, the Cameron is a gritty relic of Old Queen West.
