Welcome to Callingwood Vision and Contact Lens Centre. We have been serving the community for over 20 years!
We provide full routine eye examinations, including contact lens evaluations and fits. We provide specialty exams for diabetes, cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration and all other ocular diseases. Same day examinations for ocular emergencies are available.
We specialize in contact lenses. Ask us about daily contact lenses, bifocal contact lenses or lenses that are approved to be slept in for up to 30 days.
We have a large selection of frames to suit any style. All of our lenses are top quality and come with a warranty.
New patients and walk-in exams are welcome.

Dr. Van Der Putten
I sincerely apologize to any patient who has to wait for their appointment. I certainly make every attempt to stay on schedule, and I think most patients would agree the wait time in our office is minimal. Unfortunately, emergencies do occur from time to time which need to be addressed in a prompt manner. I always make sure that I give patients my full attention when they are in my exam chair. Most patients do prefer that I take my time to answer all of their questions even if it means they have to wait a few minutes to be seen. Again, I apologize for your negative experience in our office. Thank you for your comments, I will use them to ensure all of our patients have a better experience in our office.
Poor Customer Service
I specifically booked my last appointment here for 9am which is the first appointment of the day. I ended up waiting 40 minutes till I was seen by the optometrist. Not a word was said to me by the receptionists or the doctor as I just waited until they got going and finished with another patient. Not sure if they double booked us but again nothing said. Also not sure if the doctor is of highest calibre as she cannot figure out the proper medication to cure my eye imflammation. I will never go back.
Great experience!
Nice, comfortable office. The staff were very friendly. Dr. Van Der Putten took the time to answer all of my questions was very helpful.
