A huge brunch menu, fast and efficient service, reasonable prices, and great eggs Benedict (plus the some of the best French toast in Vancouver) turn this little cafe into a packed dining room by 10am on weekends, when guests spill out the doorway and up the long, steep sidewalk. Sandal-clad traffic from Kits Beach (next door) heads here for breakfast and lunch during the week.

Pages of brunch items on this menu include every imaginable medley of omelette and Benedict (except Arnold), plus many veggie options. The food is lowbrow diner—the Lycra-clad Kits crowd comes here to dish on last night’s revelry rather than to revel in the dishes. Zen is a longtime neighbourhood favourite—expect long lineups on weekends, but know that service is speedy.

Looking for a delicious and sumptuous brunch? Walk straight into Cafe Zen and you will certainly not face disappointment. The cafe is located at York and amidst bustling streets, however it is the best eatery in the neighborhood. Offering lunch and breakfast as well, Cafe Zen serves meals that are worth the price. While the service is fast and efficient, the ambiance is casual.
