Seasonal menu means we change the menu frequently to reflect what has just come in from local farmers and what has just been wild caught from our local waters. We also buy whole beast pig and lamb locally, doing all our own butchering to allow us to present different cuts daily as well as do all our own charcuterie (prosciutto, salami, chorizo, etc). We have our own curing room... more
Awesome food, great atmosphere, wonderful service, what else can I say?
A charcuterie-curing room built by chef Laurie Munn has added depth to Brio's Italian-sponsored menu. From coppa to braesola to pâté to the daily sausage, Munn shows abundant talent. Menu changes weekly (even daily) to reflect what's fresh and available. Pan-roasted halibut with crispy scallop gnocci is seductive, and mains like roast venison loin with radishes, braised greens, and mushrooms... more
Downtowners "treated to the meal of a lifetime" at this "unpretentious" Italian–Pacific Northwester say it gives "‘locavore' a heightened meaning" with its use of "local ingredients" that fill "every morsel" with "fresh flavours"; devotees swear "if you visit twice you are treated as family", so it's no surprise it's a "popular" "standby."
We had an excellent meal at cafe brio during our last night in Victoria!! From our early welcome by Greg (the gregarious, funny and knowledgeable owner), to a great tip from the bartender on a BC Wine (we'd had never thought to order), to a fun and delicious meal with old world charm, Cafe Brio was awesome!! Thanks Greg and team, as you made our last night in Victoria magical!
My husband had the salmon, super tender, perfectly cooked! The pasta I had was so yummy, straight out of Italy! All the meats where made in house, delish! You can bring your dog on the patio and the owners are super cool!
We will be going back next time we are in town!
Always fantastic food and service!...the menu changes seasonally and it's always great. I've never been disappointed. A must try for anyone visiting Victoria.
As is often found in locally focused restaurants, menus change on a daily basis to best highlight what is available locally at that time. At Cafe Brio, the fresh ingredients are dressed with light sauces, enhancing instead of masking the natural flavors of the seasonal ingredients. Opens at 5p daily.
Cafe Brio is a Fine Dining and Continental restaurant where most Menuism users came for a romantic date, paid between $25 and $50, and tipped more than 18%.
