"The staff and ambience make the place" declare patrons of this "gay village fixture" at Church and Wellesley where lively servers deliver Eclectic-Continental dishes – including the "best Caesar salad" – in a vibrant, mosaic-adorned space; there's also a "great selection of martinis", which gives diners the confidence to "dance away" the night "with the guys."
An attractive but low-key bar/restaurant, Byzantium attracts an affable gay and straight crowd. The cocktails are both excellent and reasonably priced (try either the Red Velvet or the Black Orchid -- they are as delicious as the names are dramatic). You can follow drinks with dinner in the adjacent top-notch dining room.
I have been here dancing before (always a fantastic time!), but came here for the first time to eat a couple of weeks ago with a large group.

Guys!!!! Ceazer salad, carppachio and steak with madagaska pepercorn souce(mb I wrote a wrong name of souce) was delicious!!!
Very nice atmosphere. Quiet and cozy. The service was not intrusive. The waiter brought the wrong drinks, but it was not too bad. We shared an appetizer and each ate steak. We drank two martinis and the bill was $ 150)
