Great for a laid-back meal. Fettuccine with wild mushrooms, garlic, spinach and thyme in mushroom broth, pear salad with Roquefort cheese and roasted walnuts, pizzas, slowly braised lamb shank with pearl onions and cremini mushrooms. Lunch Mon.-Fri., dinner daily. Entrees: $17-$26. AE, DC, MC, V.
Brownes Bistro is what you might refer to as downscale for the upscale crowd. Casual with a bistro style (blackboard specials and all), Browne’s serves the Summerhill and Rosedale crowd. House favorites include the roasted rack of lamb and the fettucini with wild mushrooms and spinach in a mushroom broth. Children are most welcome.
