I hadn't been to Brassaii since they had made renovations, and changed the feel altogether. I can honestly say its a great space to meet for drinks and chat. The 'club' part is really nice too, but the music was very mainstream- so as long as you're into that, it's a great night out!
I went to Brassaii last weekend for a friend's birthday, and after browsing the cocktail menu I decided to try something other than my usual Gin & Tonic. Talk about creativity!!! These bartenders are lighting things on fire, making drinks with ingredients I would never even think of! Among my favourites are the espresso martini called "Wake up in Venice", and the 'berry' delicious "Balsamic Bramble". But my new favourite drink (since I am a gin lover after all) would have to be "Not Your Average Joe", such a refreshing gin cocktail with cucumber and pepper in it.
A couple friends and I decided to check out Brassaii's Brunch that we had been hearing so much about. We shared a few items from the brunch menu to get a taste for it and wow, was it ever good!! We shared the Banana pancakes with apple and cinnamon compote (so fluffy and moist), their eggs benedict with their hollandaise sauce (amazing!) and their "Croque Monsieur" grilled sandwich with ham and guyere cheese. If that doesn't satisfy your appetite.... talk about options!! All of theses items were so well prepared, and came out in good time too! Add a few lemon creme pastries and some specialty Brassaii Mimosa's and we just found our new weekly Brunch location!!
This large, pretty space with a lovely courtyard is a Mediterranean restaurant and bar/lounge with good food, and extensive cocktail and wine lists. It's hip, but not trendy, in part thanks to the kitchen helmed by chef Bruce Woods, formerly of the very flashy Centro, and a new look launched last year. The menus are grown-up enough to feature ostrich, champagne risotto, and meatballs made of... more
Forget about the steel gates you have to walk through to get to Brassaii, or the cold, clammy minimalist interior - forget about all that. This restaurant knows how to do breakie. With an in-house bakery and a familiar menu that satisfies every craving, this bistro-style resto has the recipe for breakfast success.Upon entering the restaurant, I am greeted by a friendly waiter who is prompt. He... more
This was the second stop on our night out, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The lounge is located on King st. and the entrance is through a very short alley away from the street. There is a restaurant a bar and a lounge. We spent a couple of hour in the lounge / bar area enjoying the music and a... more
We loved this place. We read online that they were good at accommodating large groups and this is why we chose it. The food was great. The eggs benedict, Pancakes and waffles were amazing. The main dining area was bright and beautiful. Perfect for brunch on a sunday day.
I was surprised to read the review below that mentioned that...

We went early before a show. I think that it would have been a better atmosphere dining much later. It was difficult to gain our servers attention as she was getting things ready for the evening. Empty restaurant and they sit a party of four chatty girls right beside my husband and I. Understandable in a busy room but the... more
The newly renovated King West restaurant has a café, exposed wine cellar, dining area, bar and lounge space, as well as an events room for private bookings. The look of Brassaii is a mixture of older, raw structural features with modern design elements made with natural materials. The eatery is named after the famed 1920s photograph Gustave Brassaii. The Mediterranean-influenced cuisine created... more
