With a capacity of 20,000, it's home to Canada's national soccer team, as well as the popular Toronto FC. This is Canada's first soccer-specific stadium and, despite some initial hiccups with the quality of the playing surface, it's won many plaudits for the intimate atmosphere and infectious attitude of the noisy fans, who sing cheers and chants throughout the matches.
We went to the home opener for the TFC at the BMO field this weekend for the first time and what a great stadium! Every seat in that place is close enough that you get an incredible few of the game. Went here for MLS Cup 2010. I'm an LA Galaxy season ticket holder and spend the better part of 6 months a year in an MLS stadium and BMO is pretty nice. It wins big for it's "central" location compared to other MLS stadiums and for one of the bare bones style stadiums (columbus, bucks shaw) it is the nicest set-up that I have seen.
Ahhh my second home. Supporting TFC is like having a girlfriend. It can make you feel excited, frustrated and crying yourself to sleep depending on the result of the game. BMO field is an awesome stadium for two reasons: the supporters and the location. TFC's rabid and loyal fans keep flocking to cheer for their beloved REDS no matter how good or c@!%!y the team is playing. If you want to... more
