Whether grabbing a quick coffee and pastry in the morning, enjoying a leisurely lunch, lingering over a divine dinner or catching up with friends over brunch, you’ll find yourself immediately transported to the Left Bank. West End yields to Left Bank under chef Michael Riley. Opt for his three-course table d’hôte menu ($30), or pick and choose from à la carte salade de chèvre aux betteraves ($10), gratin Lyonnais ($8), and duck confit in puff pastry with boursin cheese ($9). Cap the feast with housemade sorbets ($7) or the lemon tart with raspberry coulis ($7). It’s just the place to catch up with an old friend... more

West End yields to Left Bank under chef Romain Guerin. Opt for his three-course table d’hôte menu ($30), or pick and choose from à la carte salade de chèvre ($9.50), tartare de boeuf made from hand-chopped AAA Alberta beef ($18 appetizer; $32 entrée), and steak frites with bean salad and dessert ($25). The frites are a Vancouver legend; the excellent, shrapnel-laden baguettes baked fresh. Cap... more

GREAT deal on food on Wednesday (1/2 price on all entrees). Our server was FABULOUS!!!! He was friendly without being overly involved in our lives. He made the meal fun. Food was very good. Came out hot, was flavorful, and I would recommend this restaurant!

Went on a Saturday night with two long time friends for dinner to meet and catch up on life. Service was attentive and very polite. Food was excellent, well presented and the portions were quite generous. I'n my opinion, the Bistro must have the best pommes frites in Vancouver.

Spotty service, marginal food, sediment in a decanted wine, poor value for money.

Our Group, we call ourselves the FLB (friday lunch bunch) have been meeting at many of Vancouver's restuarants for about 35 years. In the 70's & 80's we frequented the Cafe de Paris many times, enjoying great food and a special relationship with the then owners. After the change of ownership, we moved on to other places. On Friday the 8th July 2005, we opted to go once more to the Cafe de Pais... more

Le Bistro de Paris is a classic Parisian Bistro in the heart of the Westend on Denman at Robson at the entrance of Stanley Park. We present Fine French Food for a fair price in a relaxed ambiance. We offer a 2 course lunch special for $18 and a 3 course dinner special for $30. For lunch we also recommend Steak or Mussels or the Chef's Big Salad with our delicious, house made frites for only... more

This cozy West End Parisian-style bistro features traditional French cuisine that includes onion soup generously topped with Gruyere cheese, half-chicken with peppercorn sauce, and the most wonderful "pommes frites" in town. Options from the savory menu, starters to dessert, are listed on a blackboard and prove to be reliably tasty.

An understated establishment, this 20-year-old West End cafe is a long time favourite of sophisticated diners. Simple wood furniture in a room painted in soft warm brown tones creates a casual and relaxed ambience. The Paris-style cafe celebrates Gallic tradition. The poulet roti aux herbes (CAD 16.50), a half chicken slowly roasted with fresh herbs in a peppercorn sauce, is a tasty... more
