Located in one of Toronto's most historic districts - on the city's original waterfront promenade - the Esplanade Bier Markt remains a place to see and be seen. Killer

Saw the Killers here. Kicked butt. Other than that on a normal night its pretty decent. Known for the after hour crowd. I dont love the food but who goes to a Beer Market to eat? They have zillions of beer selections. Any alchy's dream!

Packed!

I love this place. The patio is amazing in the summer. Its ALWAYS packed on a Friday or Saturday night (sometimes a little too packed i'll give you that). The beer selection is like no other and the food is tasty! Love the esplande location much more than the King St Location.

Esplanade Bier Markt Is Key

I always have a really goof time at Bier Markt. I do believe that the one on Esplanade is more fun than the one on King however. It is just a better vibe and better location for me. The people are great that typically go there. More mature crowds, not too sloppy. Drinks are a bit expensive but not unreasonable. If you want to a have a good night out, definitely consider this place!

Great selection of beers, which comes as no surprise considering the venue. Service was quite slow getting beverages; our food came before our beers did. I wouldn't suggest coming here in a rush but if you've got time it's a great place to enjoy a couple unique beers. I'd suggest getting the beer cheese and customizable social board (the house made kolbassa is very good!)

As far as chains go, this place is probably top of the heap. There are several Bier Markt locations in Tornoto, but the Esplanade seems to be the largest. It even has a Goose Island microbrewery inside with its own small bar. Outside seating is available along the long strip of restaurants. Staff was very friendly. Food was average. A safe bet.

If you're coming to this place, don't come for the food. If you're coming for the food, don't order the Fish and Frites. It costs $18 and I thought the chef ate my fries (see picture) not to mention they were stale. I'm pretty disappointed. I mean, how can you mess up fries? It's cheap and quick to make, why not make a fresh batch? The fish was mediocre at best... Thick batter.

Take a break from artery-congesting bar food at this European-style brasserie on the outskirts of Toronto's financial district. Infamous for their selection of more than 100 different brands of beer from 24 different countries, the Bier Markt serves cold brewskis with fine-dining flair, while the Belgian-inspired menu adds European panache to their continental cuisine of seafood and sausages.... more
