The cuisine at beerbistro is about more than just beer. Equally important to us is the ethic of cooking from scratch, whether that means baking our own bread, curing and smoking our own bacon, or churning up our unique selection of beer ice creams, also known as Beerscreams.
In a polished, comfortable, upscale space in Toronto's financial district, beerbistro does beer true justice. Aside from a carefully chosen selection of 120 ales and lagers, in the kitchen beer infuses, pitches, cures, marinates, poaches and stews in most of its imaginative fresh market cuisine. From mouthwatering sourdough pitched with Cantillon-a cherished belgian lambic, to pulled pork... more
As the name implies, an "amazing" suds selection is the star at this beer haven "with elegant flair" in Downtown Core that also incorporates brews into its "fantastic" Belgian menu; the bartenders "have a plethora of information" on the offerings, too bad it's often so "noisy", it can "be hard to have a conversation."
When I stepped into Beerbistro, my eyes were immediately drawn to the bar. An cyan-illuminated glass backdrop emphasized the silhouettes of bottles of all shapes and sizes, along with an extensive lineup of taps, fridges, and glassware. It was definitely inviting, especially since I was in the mood for sampling some new brews.Quality beer, much like fine wine, is the result of both skilful art... more
Thoughtful draft selection of around 25 taps. Good mix of styles. Nice bottle list plus a cellar list of high-end and aged bottles that I did not try. Reasonable food menu and nice decor. I was there mid-afternoon so not busy. Overall pretty good here for a beer lover
Upscale restaurant/bar. Excellent selection of beers in bottles and on tap, probably a little heavy on Belgian beers. The food was excellent--ate here twice in 3 days. The mussels were among the best I have ever had. Only negative was the mixed drinks--stick with the beer.
I was staying practically across the street for a one-night stay in Toronto. Very convenient location. So, stopped in for a drink.
Vibe of the place was of young professionals, very clean and hip. Rather loud, but it was packed [first game of the Blue Jays series]. I sat at the bar.
Service was good if not particularly attentive. But, as I said, it was very busy.
Very nice selection....

High ceilings & a long list of brews in a lively, elegant spot with a varied, beer-tinged menu.
This restaurant takes its mandate seriously by incorporating beer into about 80 per cent of the fare. As a matter of fact, it’s the beer selection that will wow you. Menu offers many casual food favourites like pasta, pizza and mussles. Many elements are in the right place, like a service team who work together harmoniously and seem to genuinely enjoy their job.
